Information For Clients & Their Families
Smart Rehabilitation Ltd will work collaboratively with you and your family to co-produce a person-centred plan to help achieve your rehabilitation goals. We are always honest and transparent with families about what recovery and rehabilitation can be achieved. Families can provide our clinical staff with valuable insight into the person’s preferences, values, personality, and aspirations.
We provide a range of therapies supported by our Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine and specialist rehabilitation nurse. We suggest you call us to discuss your situation, and we can give you more information.
Our goal is to maximise your participation in life roles and impact positively on your quality of life.
How does one pay?
-
You can self-fund.
-
You may be entitled to NHS ‘CCG’ funding for your rehabilitation; we can advise you about this.
-
If your injuries are from an accident, do you have a solicitor? Your solicitor will contact insurers to request funds for a stay with us and arrange for payments to be made.
-
You may have health insurance with your place of work or your spouse's place of work.
-
You may be able to claim on other insurance policies.
We will work with any insurance provider on behalf of our patients.

Professionals, GP Practices & PCN
Successful rehabilitation reduces the risk of hospital escalations, the length of hospital stays and the lifetime costs of care, with research-based evidence proving the effectiveness of specialist rehabilitation for people with long-term conditions, complex physical disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries and cerebrovascular events.
We can treat clients from age 5 years and up with spinal cord injuries (including Cauda Equina Syndrome), brain injuries, elderly fall prevention, mobility problems, amputations, orthopaedic/polytrauma and neurological conditions.
Whether you are a GP, physiotherapist, consultant, or their secretary, you can refer your patients to us for a wide range of rehabilitation services.
At Smart Rehabilitation Ltd, we have a full team of clinical professionals. Take a look at our team here.

Information For Case Managers & Solicitors
We know that rehabilitation following a catastrophic injury is the key to an individual regaining their independence. We strive to enable individuals to get back to their own homes or supported environment. We work with them in their home environment and community setting to help them regain greater functional ability and autonomy.
Our approach to rehabilitation is based on the ICF framework. We benchmark our services to the WHO guidelines and work towards providing intensity-based, goal-focused rehabilitation in the community.
We are specialists in Complex catastrophic injury management, including brain injury, cerebrovascular events, spinal cord injury, long-term neurological conditions, cerebral palsy or birth injury.
Many of our clients are referred to us by legal teams, case managers and insurers.
Our lead therapists have years of experience in working collaboratively with case managers and solicitors. They have gained experience working in the capacity of expert witness or therapy providers in private settings.
Although we work outside of the medico-legal framework, we have an awareness of the need to have an open and honest relationship with all legal professionals involved and take a holistic approach to the care of each client, with an understanding and appreciation of their legal case.
We are experienced in working with clients going through the litigation process. We understand the needs of case managers and provide ongoing feedback regarding each client’s recovery process.
We offer a collaborative approach to expert interdisciplinary rehabilitation in the community. We can provide single-point holistic rehabilitation that is intensity driven and embraces a bio-psychosocial approach.
We run weekly MDT catch-ups, where all the medical professionals and therapists can collaborate more easily to deliver the most optimal rehabilitation programme possible. This means that clients are better engaged in the whole process, which helps achieve optimum results.
We are responsive to a client’s changing needs and proactively liaise with insurers, legal teams or case managers as and when needed.
